The Maine DOE and Little Kids Rock have selected 10 Maine school districts who will be awarded instruments and resources necessary to run a band program in their schools.

LITTLE Kids Rock is a national nonprofit dedicated to make sure public school children have the opportunity to become music makers. Waterville Senior High School is one of the schools chosen in our immediate area.

According to mainedoenews.net, this is a pilot program where schools were chosen and scored on need in a number if categories including, having to serve 50% or more free or reduced lunch to eligible students and have to agree to offer modern band during the 2017-2018 school year taught by a certified music teacher.
