Thanks to a $100,000 donation, the Maine State Museum is one step closer to their goal of building a $600,000 education center.

According to WABI TV, the $100,000 donation from the Avangrid Foundation brings the total amount raised to $250,000.

According to the director of the museum, Barnard Fishman, an old exhibit area will be replaced by an education center that has the space for classes, technology, and more.

The center is expected to open in 2020.

I am super excited about this.  Until last winter, I had not been to the Maine State Museum since I was in grade school.  We took the kids.  Not early enough, though.  Two hours is not nearly enough to see everything.  If you've never been, you definitely need to check it out.
