PeaceWorks, an organization promoting peace for all, is having its 12th annual Peace Fair in Brunswick this Saturday, August 6th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair will be located in the downtown mall area. The organization insists the event is open and FREE to any and everyone!

The event will include six separate tents with activities for all. Music, a poetry writing workshop, a giant box puzzle, and impromptu performances are a few of the events.

PeaceWorks is an organization in support of peace and social justice for all through non-violent conflict resolutions. The organization wants to bring the community together, "to celebrate a vision for a cooperative and compassionate future, to acknowledge the challenges that stand in our way, and to consider actions that may lead to change".

One of the organization's mottos is:

"The Peace we seek is ethical; it is political; it is ecological; it is spiritual; and it is universal. We must strive for this peace if we want humanity and the earth we know and love to survive."

PeaceWorks holds weekly vigils along the mall in Brunswick Friday evenings as well. The organization was developed in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy. To find out more about who they are and what they're about click here.
