What could better than sampling some great chili and chowder from lots of great local businesses? This Saturday, March 25, is your chance to do just that and help out a great cause.

The 16th annual chili-chowder challenge is set for Saturday from 11AM-2PM at the Augusta Armory, with all proceeds benefiting the Children's Center in Augusta.

Lots of great local restaurants will be on hand for your chance to vote on your favorite chili and chowders, including the Augusta House of Pancakes, Aunt Gin's, Damon's, Ground Round, Le Club Calumet, Liberal Cup, Lisa's Restaurant, Maple Hill Farm, Panera Bread, Quarry Tap Room, Red Barn and Red Robin.

Bring your dancing shoes to work off some of the great food, as the Scolded Dogs will be performing. There will also be a silent auction with lots of items donated by local businesses and also lots of art pieces.

And the food! I have been the last 4 or 5 years, and you will be guaranteed to leave satisfied and with a full belly.

More info can be found on Chili-Chowder Facebook page.
