Two Waldoboro residents were arrested by the Maine State Police and are facing crack cocaine charges after the car they were in was stopped along Route 126 in Pittston.

According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, during the traffic stop, State Police troopers arrested and charged Nichole Pranes, 39, and Destinee Smith, 19, both suspects are from Waldoboro.

McCausland said troopers seized about four grams of crack, prescription pills and various drug paraphernalia from the car, which was riven by Pranes . The two suspects  were taken to the Kennebec County Jail. Both are charged with unlawful possession of a schedule W drug. Troopers Chris Rogers and James Moore stopped the car, last Thursday after receiving a tip from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
