Country stars have found a shining spot among the 2013 Golden Globe nominees, which were announced on Thursday morning (Dec. 13). Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and the two leading actresses on the ABC drama 'Nashville' are all included on the ballot for the Jan. 13 NBC broadcast.

Swift and Urban will compete in the Best Original Song From a Motion Picture category. 'Safe & Sound,' Swift's collaboration with the Civil Wars, landed a nod. The song was included on the soundtrack for 'The Hunger Games' and immediately struck a chord with fans, who made it an iTunes hit and a hot music video to search for.

Urban's 'For You' from 'Act of Valor' found more success on country radio, peaking at No. 6 this summer. 'For You' was also nominated for a 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Award, so it stands a good chance.

On the acting side, Connie Britton (Rayna James from 'Nashville') was announced as a nominee for Best Actress in a Television Drama Series. She'll be up against stars of 'Damages,' 'Homeland,' 'Downton Abbey' and 'The Good Wife.' Hayden Panettiere scored a nod in the Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television category, alongside women from 'American Horror Story: Asylum,' 'The Good Wife,' 'Downton Abbey' and 'Modern Family.'

Our friends at Screencrush have a complete list of Golden Globe nominations. 'Lincoln' is the film to beat at this year's ceremony, which will be hosted by Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler.
