2013 Winter Carnival Coming To Old Orchard Beach

When you think of Old Orchard Beach, you think of the warm sandy beach, the pier, french fries, the amusement park, seagulls and tourists. Think again! In an effort to make Old Orchard Beach a year around destination, the Winter Carnival will be coming up on February 22 and 23.It's a free fun family event taking place on the giant snow hill on Old Orchard Street.

Friday evening from 4 to 8, get ready for 'Rockin' The Night Sledding' a DJ will be cranking out the tunes as you slide down the giant hill.

Saturday's events will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with sledding all day. There will also be a fastest sled competition, a funniest sled competition and between noon and 2 p.m. the family can enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride.

I also hear the pier fries taste just as good in February as they do in July!
