2016 Best Places To Live In Maine

I've lived in three different cities in Maine. I grew up in Lewiston, lived in Auburn from my teens into my early 40's and in Augusta since 2005. I love Maine, but which cities or towns are the best places to live in Maine?

According to research done by Niche.com, here's the list they came up with for the '2016 Best Places To Live In Maine'.

Top Ten:

1. Cape Elizabeth
2. Falmouth
3. Portland
4. Brunswick
5. South Portland
6. Falmouth Foreside
7. Scarborough
8. Yarmouth
9. Cumberland
10. Gorham

They used statistics from the FBI, U.S. Census, BLS, CDC and other sources. They factored crime rates, public schools, cost of living, job opportunities and local amenities in making their list.

Augusta was 37th, Winslow 29th, Auburn 22nd, Pittston 39th, Belfast 40th, Waterville 43rd, Gardiner 46th, Lewiston 45th and Skowhegan 59th.
