For 25 years, The Boothbay Charities Classic has been raising money for Special Olympics Maine. Last year, $40,000.00 was raised for this great cause.

Boothbay Charities Classic is made up strictly of volunteers that work year round to create an annual fun filled weekend event of sports memorabilia, well-known Hall of Fame celebrities, and 18 holes of the wonderful game of golf, with all proceeds donated to Special Olympics of Maine.

I worked in Boothbay Harbor in the summertime for about 12 years and always made a point to get a group together and play in this fun tournament. And it is for a great cause that is near and dear to my heart.

As always, the Charities Classic has lined up a great group of Celebrities due to play in this years golf tourney, including Bill "Spaceman" Lee, Ken Hodge, and Stump Merrill.

If you aren't a golfer but want to get involved, the Boothbay Charities Classic is always looking for volunteers. Contact them if you are interested in helping out.
