5 Insulting Nicknames For Maine Towns

Before I get to these offensive nicknames, I did find out about some interesting facts, according to Wikipedia.  Did you know that Cherryfield is the blueberry capital of the world?  Neither did I.  How about that Millinocket is known as the magic city?  I wonder why?  Of course, there's the obvious one, Bath being the City of Ships.  

Now stop me if you've heard these ones.  Here are, what I would consider some to be insulting, nicknames for some towns relatively close to us:

• Portland:  P-Town
• Waterville: H20ville
• Augusta:  Disgusta
• Gardiner:  Tiger Town
• Lewiston:  The dirty Lew

I'm sure there's more.  I can think of one or two that are pretty inappropriate.  However, being from a town dubbed as 'Disgusta'...anytime I leave Maine, for any reason, I couldn't be more happier to return!!  Maine, the way life should be.
