One of my favorite things to do in Maine is be a tourist. Here are 6 tourist traps that all Mainers should experience!

JORDAN POND HOUSE IN ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

First, every Mainer should spend some time in Acadia National Park. It's amazing and in our backyard. If you take the trip up north, do NOT miss out on the famous popovers at The Jordan Pond House. They ARE worth the wait. And yes, it will be a wait. And good luck with parking, too. I wish Mainers got a Maine 'fast pass' for tourist traps!

THE LOBSTER SHACK AT TWO LIGHTS

It's the view that can't be beat. The food is spectacular and you combine them both and it is THE tourist trap worth putting up with the tourists to enjoy. The Lobster Shack at Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth is one of my favorite must do summer treats. Again ... there should be a 'fast pass' for actual Mainers.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH - ALL OF IT

If you want to feel like you are on vacation for an afternoon or night, head to Old Orchard Beach. The crowds, the arcade, the Pier Fries, the pizza ... and that ocean. I love going ... and going home. I can only take so much of the tourists, but I do love the OOB.

LUCKY CATCH CRUISES

Be a lobsterman! This is so much fun. Don't let the tourists be a lobsterman when YOU can with Lucky Catch. You live in Maine and lobstering is a huge part of the economy. This cool excursion lets you be a lobsterman for just a couple of hours. Oh, and you walk away with lobsters to eat.

RED'S EATS IN WISCASSET

Definite tourist trap. Definite must for all Mainers. I just went to Red's last year for the first time and couldn't believe I waited so long. It was so tasty! A whole pound of lobster per lobster roll? Butter or mayo as options? Sure the line is long, but the view is nice and you get to know why the family from Wisconsin is in Maine. This is a perfect place for a Maine 'fast pass.'

DIMILLO'S

Dimillo's has been labeled 'tourist trap' since it opened in 1978 -- and a completely unfair label. Dimillo's is the best. It's a boat that was turned into a restaurant! My favorite part about Dimillo's (besides the food and drink) is the fact that since it's a boat, it moves. I always forget that and think I'm having a stroke. When I remember, I can go back and enjoy the sway.

What isn't on this list? What tourist trap should all Mainers experience?
