6th Annual Moosehead Lake Touge Ice Fishing Derby

January means ice fishing in Maine. Even though it’s been very cold lately, please make sure to check the ice thickness before heading out on the lake. Coming up on the weekend of January 25, 26 and 27, it’s the 6th Annual Moosehead Lake Touge Ice Fishing Derby.

The annual event is sponsored by NREC at Moosehead, Maine IF & W and hosted by Ricky Craven. There will be a first place cash prize for the heaviest touge caught of $1,500, second place is $500 and third place is $250. There is also a grand door prize. Tickets are available now at Indian Hill Trading Post, Northwoods Outfitters, Moosehead Bait and Tackle and at the Moosehead Lake Region Chamber Of Commerce.

Bundle up and have a great time with the whole family and enjoy winter in Maine!
