America will be celebrating it's independence this Saturday, July 4th and there are plenty of activities planned across the state. Here's a handy guide to checkout fireworks displays and celebrations across the state of Maine.

Augusta's Big bash at the Riverfront in Waterfront Park in Augusta on July 4th. For info phone parade coordinator Wendy Somes at (207) 626-2350 or the KVCC at 623-4559. The fireworks are on July 4, 2015 at around 9 p.m. at the East Side boat landing (rain date undetermined).

Annual Bangor Independence Day celebration. It starts on July 4th, 2015 with a pancake breakfast at the Brewer Auditorium from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. This is followed by a parade starting at 11 a.m. that works its way from Brewer, across the Penobscot River to Bangor. Festivities, including a free concert, continue on the Bangor Waterfront from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., culminating with fireworks over the Penobscot River on the 4th.

Bath: July 2-5, 2015. Four days of July 4th activities, with a fireworks finale over the Kennebec River at the Bath waterfront on Sunday, July 5th at 9 p.m. For more info call Main Street Bath at (207) 442-7291.

Belgrade - A small town celebration from sunrise to well into the evening. Music, wide variety of yummy foods, kids games, specials throughout the Belgrade Lakes Village shops, frog jumping contest and ending the day with a fireworks display over Long Pond on July 4th, 2015.

Bethel - Fourth of July Community Picnic & Portland Brass Quintet Concert. This long-standing event includes a free two-hour concert by the Portland Brass Quintet! Picnic, presentation of colors and the National Anthem, concert. All in the sweetest setting. Begins at 11:30 a.m. on the side lawn of the Dr. Moses Mason House (14 Broad Street). Bring your lunch and after the presentation of colors and the National Anthem, enjoy a two-hour concert by the Portland Brass Quintet. In case of rain, the concert and picnic will be held at the Middle Intervale Meetinghouse (1816) on Intervale Road, approximately four miles downriver from Bethel Hill village. For more info call (207) 824-2282. As for pyrotechnics, there will be fireworks at the Sunday River Resort in front of the South Ridge Lodge at 9 p.m. on July 4th.

Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor: Fourth of July 2015 in Boothbay starts with a family-friendly celebration on the Boothbay Common with crafts (a two-day craft show), children's games, chicken barbeque and music. Head on over to Boothbay Harbor in the evening for fireworks over the Harbor. Fired from a barge near McFarland Island, the fireworks begin at 9 p.m. on the 4th.

Brunswick - The Brunswick Rotary and the Town of Brunswick/Brunswick Downtown Association will be offering their annual 4th of July Games on the Town Mall from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for Brunswick area kids of all ages on July 4. Participation in traditional races and games is free to all and includes Relay Games, 3-Legged Races, a Pie Eating Contest, Wheelbarrow Races, Sack Races and a Watermelon Eating Contest. Camden - Camden's 2015 Festival of Independence is centered in Harbor Park. Midcoast organizations will team up to offer three days of fun over the Fourth of July holiday period, from July 3rd to July 5th. Concerts, family events, parades, and fireworks (July 4th, shot from a barge between Curtis Island & Camden Inner Harbor), with fun and affordable options for all tastes. Carrabassett Valley - The 2015 Independence Day celebration in Carrabassett Valley starts on July 4th at noon at the Town Park. The pool will be open and there will be activities for the kids from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and also a band from 4 p.m. until the evening. All followed by fireworks at about 9:15 p.m. at the Carrabassett Valley Airport across from Ayottes Store on Route 27. Damariscotta - 2015 events in Damariscotta include a live band from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the downtown parking lot, followed by fireworks off Gay's Point, both on on July 4th. Rain date July 5..

Dexter - Fireworks on July 3, 2015 at Dexter High School Football Field, 12 Abbott Hill Road, at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.

Farmington - Fireworks on July 3, 2015 at Prescott Field off of Front Street in Farmington at 9 p.m. Rain date July 5, 2015.


Fayette - Fireworks (private) on July 4, 2015 at around 9 p.m. on the docks at the Camp Vega in Fayette. Rain date July 5, 2015. May be visible from locations outside of the camp.


Freeport - July 4, 2015 in Freeport is the kick-off day for L.L. Bean's annual Summer in the Park celebration. On the 4th there is a road race & fun run at 7:30 a.m. & 9:10 a.m., a free concert in Discovery Park by the Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks starting around 9 p.m.


Greenville - A fun day of games, crafts, food vendors and parade at the East Cove of Moosewood Lake in Greenville followed by fireworks on July 4, 2015 at 9 p.m. also at the East Cove midway between the IF&W Building and the Forestry Building. Rain date July 5.


Harpswell / Bailey Island - Fireworks on July 5, 2015 at about 9 p.m. at Cooks Lobster House Point, 86 Garrison Cove Road. Rain date July 6. See also South Harpswell.

Jay - Fireworks on July 3, 2015 at Spruce Mountain Ski Area at 9 p.m. Rain date is July 5.

The Lewiston Auburn Liberty Festival is an annual 4th of July event held at the Great Falls Plaza in Auburn and in Veteran's Park in Lewiston with bands, entertainment and food vendors. Fireworks finale date TBA at 9:30 p.m. at West Pich Park over Looking Falls in Auburn. For more info email info@libertyfestival.org.

Livermore - Fireworks on July 3 at around 9:30 p.m. at 807 Boothby Road in Livermore. Rain date July 5, 2015.

Mt. Vernon - Freworks on July 4th, 2015 on a knoll in a back field of the Leighton property at 8 Belgrade Road at 9 p.m. This appears to be related to a concert to be held at the same location by Gerald Slavet Concert Productions.

OOB Fireworks displays are held every Thursday from June 25 through September 3, 2015 at the Old Orchard Beach pier at about 9:45 p.m. There will also be a large fireworks display on Saturday, July 4, 2015. For more info call (207) 934-2500.

Portland The annual 4th of July Festival in Portland, Maine is the Stars and Stripes Spectacular. The fun begins with The Scoops Ice Cream Festival from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Patriotic Pops concert starts at 7:20 p.m. with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and special guest artist Melissa Manchester. The evening culminates with dazzling pyrotechnics, as fireworks arch over Casco Bay from Portland's East End Promenade at 9:20 p.m. Food vendors will be on site. Rangeley Independence Day Celebration on July 3rd with events all day and fireworks at the town park dusk. Events start at 10 a.m.

Rumford - Fireworks on July 4, 2015 at Hosmer Field Athletic Complex at 9 :15 p.m. Rain date July 5.

Thomaston This is a large traditional small town Independence Day celebration with a pancake breakfast at the Masonic Hall, a craft tent, a pet show, parade, chicken barbecue, food & vendor booths, dunk tank, games for kids, bouncy houses, horseshoe tournament, musical entertainment, and a grand fireworks finale. West Forks - Fireworks on July 4th at 9 p.m. at the camp turn around area where the Dead & Kennebec Rivers meet. Rain date July 5, 2015.


Winslow - The 2015 Fourth of July Celebration in Winslow starts on July 1 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. with music by the Crossin' Mason Dixon Country Rock band, the Back Woods Road Bluegrass band, and Boston, featuring three of its original members. Also on July 1 is the July Idol competition. July 2 is Family Fun and Kids Day with bounce houses, face painting, a petting zoo and more. Also on July 2 is still more music from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. with The Juke Rockets Blues Band, Joel Dupre, Bad Penny Maine, Out of the Blue and Aerosmith tribute band Draw The Line. July 3 is another day of music from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. with the Tiny Kelly Band, The Resistance, 95Hyde, Dyer Neck Gang, and Street Dance in the Park. Finally is July 4th with the Winslow Family July 4th Parade from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by an afteroon and evening of music by the Crockadyles, Cold Blue Steel, Live Wire Reunion, Sharon Hood Dixon Road, Journey tribute band Scarab and the Maine State Police Bag Pipers. Topping it all off at 9:30 p.m. is central Maine's largest fireworks show at Fort Halifax Park.


Winthrop - July 4, 2015 at Norcross Point in Winthrop. Thousands of folks visit Winthrop each year for its annual Fourth of July fireworks display overlooking picturesque Norcross Point at the southern end of Maranacook Lake. The pyrotechnics take place at dusk (around 9 p.m.) on July 4th, 2015. For details phone (207) 377-8020.
