Bear arms, not armed bears.  Sorry, had to go there. A Sabattus man feels there ought to be a law which mandates every Sabattus head of household to own a gun. This is not the first time this idea has been floated. A town outside of Atlanta, Georgia did this years ago and it apparently worked

According to the Sun Journal, when Sabattus selectmen meet March 5th, they will hear this proposal on how to reduce crime, the same way Kennesaw, Georgia town did. Since Kennesaw mandated every home have a gun their crime rates have reportedly gone down.  David Marsters is a retired police officer from Malden, Mass. He is hoping his proposal will be accepted by selectmen and placed on the town warrant for citizens to decide at the annual June town meeting.

Update: At the meeting with selectmen , did not accept the proposal.
