Apart from new settings, casts of characters and faces both old and new, there's one thing 'American Horror Story' fans look forward to every year: the spooky redesigned opening credits! Now, fans can get an early look at the FX horror-drama's especially shadowy and gruesome 'American Horror Story: Coven' credits, sifting through each new image for a clue to new season!

First tweeted out by series creator Ryan Murphy, the new opening title sequence for 'American Horror Story: Coven' keeps the iconic music (of course), and moves through all manner of demonic and witchy imagery, with plenty of terrifying beasts thrown in along the way. It's hard to say exactly what clues lurk within the shadowy new sequence, but we're reasonably certain those hooded figures moving through the woods aren't Death Eaters. Probably.

From the official ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ logline for the season:

Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Jessica Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.

So far, we know that the third season of Ryan Murphy’s breakout horror hit will move back and forth between both present and 1830s New Orleans in a battle between witches and voodoo, details of which have emerged for the first few episodes. ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ will also welcome newcomers Danny Huston, Christine Ebersole, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone, Leslie Jordan and Gabourey Sidibe, along with returning franchise regulars Jessica Lange, Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe, Denis O’Hare, Alexandra Breckinridge, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
