‘American Idol’ Farewell Episode Review

As a huge 'American Idol' fan is was kind of bittersweet to watch the final episode of the show. The finale this season had Trent Harmon versus La'Porsha Renae and frankly who won took a backseat to seeing how they would send off this iconic piece of American television.

The farewell episode didn't disappoint this 'American Idol' fan.

Things that worked:

1 The great memories of seeing and hearing so many past contestants.

2. Kelly Clarkson's montage of her hit songs.
3. Keith Urban with Carrie Underwood.

4. Brian Dunkleman returns.

5. Harry Connick Jr. singing with Marley Fletcher

6. The three diva's Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson and LaToya London.

7. The return of Simon, Paula and Randy
8. Carrie Underwood's performance of 'Something In The Water'

Things that Didn't Work:

1. Kara Dioguardi's performance.
2. Steven Tyler's Cameo
3. Ellen's cameo
4. Jennifer Lopez performance (it's was a little raunchy for family viewing)

In the end Trent Harmon is the winner.

Ryan Seacrest is visibly sad as he signs off with 'Good night America, (famous American Idol pause) for now.'

Could that mean the show could end up coming back? Hmmm!
