The final live show from Detroit features the ladies last night. We one by one find out which 8 of the top 12 advance as Ryan announces their names. Here my recap of the night.

1. Tyanna Jones: She sings 'Rockin' Robin' a song that suits her age and she does a fine job, but the song really isn't made for showing off vocally. I'll give her a B. Plus, she comes across as very likeable.

2. Lauren Lott: The actress with the big voice. She does a very good job with her song and the judges praise her. I think however, she may come across as unlikeable to the audience. Her performance last night B+

3. Maddie Walker: Kind of a surprise, she almost didn't make the top 16 and there seemed to be a lot of fan backlash towards her. She sang 'I'll Be There' and it was good but a little beauty pageant-like for me. I think she has the ability but last night I'll give her a B-.

4. Joey Cook: American Idol seems to be looking for 'artistry'. Joey dialed back a little bit of the 'artistry' on her take of 'Shop Around'. She jazzed it up, I like her tone and attitude, but she also grates on me sometimes. I'll give her a B-.

5. Sarina Joi Crowe: She sang 'You Really Got A Hold On Me' and it was just her and the guitar player. Sarina probably has the best vocals of the girls and it was my favorite performance of the night. She gets an A.

6. Adanna Duru: Sings Lionel Richie's 'Hello'. It started out just alright and then she opened up and kind of saved it at the end. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. B-

7. Jax: Another singer with 'artistry'. She's more radio friendly than Joey but her arrangement of 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' was terrible, dare I say, criminal. She has a good tone and is a fine singer but that performance last night wasn't good. C.

8. Alexis Gomez: The country girl from Texas. Sings 'Can't Help Myself' and this was bad. I like her, but she was out of tune the whole song and this was easily the worst performance of the night. D.

That means Shi, Shannon, Katherine and Lovey were eliminated. I really like Katherine and thought Lovey had talent.

Here's the video of my favorite performance last night from Sarina Joi Crowe.
