The farewell season of 'American Idol' is flying by, the first half of the Top 24 performed in a solo round last night and tonight they will sing duets with past American Idol contestants. The season will be crowning it's final winner in April, was the winner in this bunch? Here's my recap.

1. Stephany Negrette: 'Mama Knows Best' by Jessie 3. She has a powerful voice, the look and stage presence. However, she might be too polished and not connect with the viewers.

2. Mackenzie Bourg: 'Say Something' by A Great Big World. Very artsy, airy and a little wimpy for my taste. The young girls will love him and the judges do as well. He's definitely in the Top 12 and a potential winner.

3. Jeneve Rose Mitchell: 'Angel' by Sarah MacLaughlin. She's the 'off the grid' girl and I was pleasantly surprised at how well she did. I really didn't think she should be in the top 24. She played the harp and sang the song with great feeling and passion.

4. Jenna Renae: 'My Church' by Maren Morris. Keith Urban flew out of his chair because he loves the song. Jenna did alright, but I think the judges were right to say she was shouting at times. 50-50 chance that she moves on.

5. James VIII: 'Love Lockdown' by Kayne West. I didn't know the song and it was pretty one note. It didn't show any range or power and the judges weren't impressed. I think he's done.

6. Sonika Vaid: 'Safe & Sound' by Taylor Swift. The vocals were by far the best of the night. Stunning.

7. Gianna Isabella: 'I Put A Spell On You' by Annie Lenox. She's 80's one-hit wonder Brenda K. Starr's daughter and a judges favorite. She's got a strong voice but it seems like she forces it too much at times. She'll be safe.

8. Emily Brooke: 'I Am Invincible' by Cassadee Pope. This was by biggest disappointment of the night. I had been an Emily fan and this performance was rough to say the least. Way off pitch. I think she is done.

9. Avalon Young: 'Love Yourself' by Justin Bieber. She's the anti-idol contestant. She's got a good voice but there is something about her that doesn't say Idol to me. She'll make the top 12.

10. Jordan Sasser: 'All By Myself' by Celine Dion. The song was too big for him. He went for it and it was a 6 out of a 10. The judges called it theatrical, but I think he has a good chance to move on.

11. Thomas Stringfellow: 'Creep' by Radiohead. The girls love him, he's American Idol material but not my cup of tea. Sings with his mouth clinched and lacks power and range. Judges love him, Potential winner.

12. La'Porsche Renae: 'Proud Mary' by Tina Turner. If Aretha Franklin and Donald Trump had a baby it could look like La'Porsche. She's a diva in training. The judges love her but she won't win.

These dozen singers will sing duets with past American Idol contestants and then five will be sent home at the end of the show tonight. Part two next week.
