Simones' Hot Dog Stand has been in my family for over 105 years. My Dad and his brother George had owned the restaurant for several years. My Dad sold his share of the business to his brother in the early 1970's when I was maybe 7 years old. My cousin Jimmy Simones is the current owner and the restaurant is a landmark in Lewiston.

At the radio station, I received a copy of 'Maine Dispatch' magazine. It's a cool magazine that features local events, music and food and Simones' Hot Dog Stand was in their 'lunchbreakers' review section.

Both reviewers gave the restaurant excellent reviews. For one reviewer it was their first time there and they said in the article, 'it reminded me of lunches my grandmother would

make for me when I was a kid.' Adding, 'that the nostalgia, coupled with the owner's welcoming air and excitement about his family's business, made this a great lunch.'

A second reviewer gave Simones' a perfect 5 star rating saying, 'this was beyond a doubt the best chili cheese dog this fast food junkie has ever eaten!' 'The Simones family has won my vote. No contest!'

If you make a trip to Simones' at 99 Chestnut Street in Lewiston, you'll see photos of my Dad, uncle, aunt and cousins and you'll get some awesome food too!
