It sure seemed liked it rain almost every Wednesday during horseshoe season and due to a couple of rescheduling of weeks due to rain the Lisbon Left Hand Club Horseshoe League season is running long this year.

Playoffs began last night, we are kind of like the NHL, where almost all the teams make the playoffs. The top 16 teams made the playoffs (we had 19 teams in the league). My team finished in 10th place, I think the few years that I've played that was the best we've ever finished.

Last night we were taking on the 7th place team. It's a 6 game match with the first team winning 4 games advancing.

We started off with a bang. I was shooting with one of my best friends Noland. Noland is probably our best shooter, with a ringer percentage just shy of 20%. I am statistically the weakest shooter on the team with a 13.48 ringer percentage. I was on fire the first game and shoot my best game all season! I got six ringers out of my 20 shoots and we won game 1.

Our team also won game two! We are up 2-0. Noland and Lad, our two best shooters played in game three, and they just couldn't get going and they couldn't overcome the handicap points we had to give the other team. We are still up 2-1.

I play in game 4 with Mike. Mike shot well and I was back to normal getting just a couple of ringers. But, we won game 4 and lead 3-1. One more win and we advance! Game 5, was much like game 3, we couldn't overcome the handicap points we had to give and lost. It's now 3-2.

I'm in game six with Lad. I wasn't shooting very well at this point. I had two ringers, but they ended up getting knocked off! Lad shoot fairly well and we were lucky the other team struggled even more than we did. It was a win, albeit an ugly win. We advance 4-2 and face the second place team next week. Wish us luck!

Here's some video of the team from earlier this season.
