With two weeks left in 2013, you'll see a lot of 'best of' and 'worst of' lists. I want to chime in with my favorite television show of 2013. Last year, I chose 'Parenthood' on NBC. With the show's powerful cancer storyline and the terrific acting by Monica Potter. This year, 'Parenthood' isn't my choice of the best show, still love the show, but it seemed to start a little slow this season, before kicking into 'best show' status. Never quite meeting last year's level.

So what is my choice for 'Best Television Show' of 2013? It goes to the new show 'The Blacklist' on NBC.

James Spader is such a polished actor and his character of 'Raymond Reddington' is one of the best leads in a series since 'Jack Bauer'.

The show debut on September 23, 2013 and has been on of NBC's few ratings hit. The show features Spader as Reddington, a former government agent, that surrenders himself at the FBI headquarters building in Washington D.C.

Reddington claims that he and the FBI have the same goal to rid the world of dangerous criminals and terrorists. Reddington has complied his 'Blacklist' of bad guys, that the government aren't even aware of.

Reddington is only willing to cooperate with rookie FBI profiler Elizabeth Keen, played by Megan Boone.

The show is thrilling and exciting. It is a show for adults and does feature some violence, but it's more intense than anything else. The show also has a continuing mystery of how Red and Elizabeth are connected.
