South Portland could be the next Maine city to implement a plastic shopping bag fee. South Portland's Mayor Linda Cohen says the ordinance would match the Portland's ordinance word for word.

The bag fee applies to stores that derive 2 percent or more of their revenue from food sales.

The ordinance would charge consumers five cents per bag and also ban the use of polystyrene.

This subject has sparked some customer complaints when implemented in other communities.

What do you think? Do you favor a per bag fee? Also, do you use reusable shopping bags?
