That's my plan.  For us, there is only one place on this planet to vacation...Disney World!  We've been once as a blended family and my children have been a handful of times with me and their dad.  I'd like to think I know all the in's and out's that are to vacationing on a dime and I will share them with you, but if I'm missing something, I want you to share your secrets with me.

I've never been able to stay on Disney property.  It is just way too expensive and with my family size, it's not feasible.  The last time we went, we rented a house through VRBO.  It was $800 for a week.  5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, game room, movie theater room, private pool and hot tub.  It was stunning and I couldn't believe the price we got it for.  Usually, we drive to Florida and have a vehicle, but this year, we are flying.  I'm hoping to find somewhere just as great, but that offers transportation to the parks.  If not, I am looking at renting a vehicle.

I always stay somewhere that has a full kitchen.  Buying your own groceries helps keep the cost down.  We will always eat a good breakfast before heading out to the parks.  We load up backpacks with snacks and beverages to munch on and then plan on eating a late lunch/early dinner at the park.

Now that the kids are getting older, we are adding Universal Studios to the agenda which will be brand new to me.  I don't know any of the "must sees" at Universal, so if you are a pro, let me know what I should look for.

Often I'm asked why we don't vacation other places since we've been to Disney so many times.  I don't think I know of any place better.  But I'm open to suggestions.  Are you planning a vacation this year?  Where are you going?  Do you have any secrets on getting great deals and vacationing on a budget?
