Are You Ready For The Summer Olympics?

If you are a sports nut like myself, you will be watching and cheering for the USA the next two weeks in Rio.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for tonight and it's always interesting to see which American athlete will be carrying the American flag (hint: he's a swimmer with a ton of medals)  Also, who will be carrying the torch? Who can forget the late, great Muhammad Ali carrying out the torch in the 2012 games?

Mainers will want to keep an eye on Ellie Logan. The Boothbay Harbor native is trying to win a third gold medal in rowing – something that has never been done on a U.S. team before. Ellie will be the only Mainer competing in this years summer Olympics.

So from rowing to archery, boxing to gymnastics, sailing to basketball, there should be something to interest each and every fan.

In a country that seems so divided these days, there is nothing like the Olympics to unite all Americans to a common cause. Cheering for our incredible athletes!
