Arianna Huffington advises college graduates that if they want to be a force for change, get plenty of rest.

The author and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post, whose recent book is on the importance of sleep, delivered the commencement address Sunday at Colby College before an audience of about 3,000.

Digital devices and information overload are causing stress and sleep problems, she said, and people are taking better care of their smartphones than they are of themselves.

She said young people have a chance to change that for the good.

Degrees were awarded to 504 seniors, and Huffington received an honorary degree at the ceremony in Waterville, Maine.

A native of Greece, she is known for co-founding the Huffington Post, which she later sold to AOL. (AP)
