Just because 'Arrow' mostly gets our attention when it recruits characters from the DC universe to appear in the fledgling CW series, it doesn't mean the show hasn't made some cool original castings on its own.  The latest fan-favorite star to take a turn on the DC superhero drama is 'True Blood's own Janina Gavankar, but whom will she be playing?  Does she have connections to any of the other DC characters, and what does it mean for her role on 'True Blood?'

'True Blood' fans have had quite a few points made toward series star Janina Gavankar, and now it seems The CW's 'Arrow' will as well!  We've just learned that the 'True Blood' beauty, best known for her role as shape-shifter Luna, will appear in a multi-episode arc of the hit CW series as original character McKenna Hall, a Starling City PD vice cop.

'Arrow' and the lovely lady cop McKenna Hall will make arrows fly when previously announced villain Count Vertigo (or whatever the character calls himself, played by Seth Gabel) comes to town, making his Vertigo drug all the rage across the city.  Not only that, but it seems she and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) have a bit of pre-island history as well!

What say you?  Do you think Janina Gavankar will make 'Arrow' shift in her 2013 debut?  Is the actress appearance further bad news for her 'True Blood' role?  Give us your predictions in the comments!
