Gas prices continued to go up slightly this week; both in Maine and nationally.

According to the price monitoring site Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of gas in Maine this week is $2.350, which is up under a penny form last weeks statewide average of $2.346.

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.370, which is up from last weeks national average price of $2.362.

We searched locally for the lowest gas prices in Central Maine.

In Augusta, the lowest place we could find was at the Shell Station at 183 Capital Street, which is selling gas at $2.29 a gallon. The Irving Station at 262 Western Ave, the Kenoco Station at 363 Western Ave, and the Kenoco Station at 291 State St all checked in at $2.30 a gallon.

In Windsor, Rideout Market 348 Augusta-Rockland Rd is selling gas at $2.29 a gallon.

In Fairfield, the Irving on 155 Pung Hill Rd reported gas at $2.29 a gallon.

In Waterville, the cheapest place we could find for gas was at the Citgo at 364 Main St which is reporting in at $2.33 a gallon.
