The pharmacy at the Shaw’s Supermarket on Western Ave., Augusta was robbed today (Nov. 13) just before 12:30 pm. It is the second time this week that the same location has been robbed. Monday (Nov. 11) was the first incident.

The Augusta Police Department says a man entered the pharmacy and handed employees a threatening note asking for Oxycontin. Authorities believe both robberies, which occurred around the same time both days, were committed by the same man.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s, 6 feet tall with brown hair and wearing a green Carhartt style jacket. The male fled the pharmacy/supermarket on foot and was tracked with the use of a K-9 unit with no success. No one was injured during the incident.

If anyone has any information they are asked to call the Augusta Police Department at 626-2370.
