After circling Northern New England for the better part of my radio career, I’m pumped to be part of the team at WOKQ. It’s a homecoming of sorts, as OKQ has always been in my life. It’s the first station I remember listening to. Cutting wood with my dad, OKQ was on in the neighbor’s shop, and etc. Raised on the best Alabama, Ronnie Milsap, Larry Gatlin, Randy Travis, George Strait…all of it. Plus, wanting to be in broadcasting since I can remember, it’s no doubt this station was a big influence. When I’m not part of the end of your workday, I’m keeping track of what’s going on in the world of racing. Local, NASCAR, Indy, dirt, and etc. Also, I’m (what I want to call) an avid road biker. The seacoast has a ton of great riding, and I’m looking forward to getting back on these roads. That’s enough for here. It’s National French Fry Day. Who Has The Best? [POLL]
July 13th, we celebrate one of the more summer'ish foods, French fried potatoes. Nah, let's be honest, they are fair game year round. The debate over who has the best likely depends on your fast food habits. I mean, SOME people can grab something at Burger King, and make a fry r…
Hear Tim McGraw Cover Rhinestone Cowboy
the 1970's, no one did pop country finer than Glen Campbell. The hits, the outfits, and the headlines. Minus the tabloid fodder, (well, he's sometimes a target) Tim McGraw has tread a similar path, and stayed near the top for close to 25 years. He and Faith Hill have taken their Soul To Soul tour on…
SPAM (the actual product, not your can) Turns 80
This is one you're either really excited about, or your gag reflex kicked in upon reading the headline. 80 years ago, the land of Spam began. Think company-sponsored competition doesn't work? Pfffft. The name Spam came from Ken Daigneau, who picked up the cool $100 bill Hormel put on …
It’s Time To Stop Saying ‘Merica
It was cool for a while, cutesy, and yeah, I've been completely guilty. Somewhere along the line, we've removed the "a", and shortened nearly every patriotic thought/pic to simply "'merica," or worse "'murica." It's …
Maine In One Photo
It's the time of year where we earn our tag "Vacationland." People flock here to indulge in lobster, hike many of our trails, and bask in the sunshine on the rocky coast. Over the last few weeks, I've seen the hash #iliveinapostcard more than once. Yet, is the above what …
