Todd: Happy new year! While the headline may imply we’re taking the New England Patriots 16-year run of success for granted, that cannot be further from the truth. As I proclaimed in our last column, it’s amazing that in a league designed for parity and small windows of large win totals that the Patriots have not only reached the playoffs the last seven seasons, but have done so without needing to play a game on Wild Card Weekend.
Investigators are looking into separate Christmas Day incidents in Richmond and Fairfield. In Richmond, a man was seriously injured when his apartment was destroyed in a fire. In Fairfield, a man died after stabbing himself while he was being confronted by officers while he had allegedly set his estranged wife's home on fire.
The Maine State Police are looking for a Livermore Falls man who led New Hampshire Troopers on a chase into Maine early Wednesday morning (Dec. 21) before fleeing from the car along the Maine Turnpike.
But that's not the first time the Star Wars universe and the Christmas season have collided. In fact, way back in 1980, a then unknown Jon Bon Jovi (then know by his birth name of John Bongiovi) recorded the classic "R2-D2-We Wish You A Merry Christmas."
Todd: Wait, it’s almost 2017? Where in the world has the time gone? 2016 will be remembered as the year of the unexpected, most certainly in terms of politics, but the same can also be said when it comes to sports.
