The wild pig population in America is going wild; all across the country the population of feral pigs is growing at an alarming rate, doubling in size in just 20 years. It’s hard to be exact on the number of wild pigs but it was estimated 20 years ago the population was somewhere between 500,000 and 2 million, today that number has grown to 2 to 6 million.
Target Changes Name of Sandals That Means Urine in Spanish
Target stores have not been having any luck lately naming their products; first they made the mistake of naming plus size dresses ‘Manatee Grey’, and got a lot of flak about that, now they have named a line of sandals ‘Orina’. The word translates to ‘urine’ in Spanish. The shoes have been on sale since February but the labels have started to change. There is a large number of Spanish speaking customers at Target, so the will change the name.
Maine Marine Patrol Arrest Canadian Man with $61,000 Worth of Baby Eels
In what is being called the largest illegal eel possession in the history of Maine, Maine’s Marine Patrol arrest 41 year old Phillip Parker of Canada, seizing $61,000 worth of baby eels. The baby eels are known as elvers and fisherman need a license to harvest them but Parker did not have a license when he was caught with 41 pounds of eels
Circus Elephant Hit in Drive-By Shooting in Mississippi
This has to be the strangest case of a drive-by shooting in the history of drive- by shootings. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus were at a show in Tupelo, Mississippi, when a circus elephant was hit by a drive- by shooter. The Asian elephant named Carol was in an outside area at the Tupelo Arena when a dive-by shooter opened fire on the area and hit Carol.
Milk in a Bottle for the First Time in 1879
It’s amazing to think that milk first appeared in glass bottles for the first time in the United States 1879 and was a big improvement in hygiene and convenience. Before milk came in a bottle, people would buy it as a bulk item usually from a keg or bucket and put it in any type of container they had. The new method of delivery caught on fast with some states requiring milk to be sold in a bottle by the first decade of the 20th century.
