Woosie the Cat Returns Home After Three Years

When Woosie the cat disappeared in 2011 Helen and Phillip Johns searched but with no luck. Helen said one morning Woosie went out like cats do but never came back. They had given up hope of ever finding their family cat until one day, three years later, they received a call. The call came from a vet that scanned a microchip installed in the cat and discovered it belonged to the Johns family.

Major League Baseball Starts Season In Sydney, Australia

Now that the Super Bowl is over it’s time to start thinking baseball. Spring Training gets underway soon. For the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, pitchers and catchers report February 15 with position players reporting February 18. Seems strange these days but on this day, February 3, 1953, a chimpanzee named J. Fred Muggs joined the Today Show and host Dave Garroway as his sidekick.  The chimp was the mascot of the show from 1953 to 1957. It was the brainchild of NBC network president Pat Weaver.
