I am the News Director for the Townsquare Media/Augusta-Waterville stations and also the host of our public affairs show, "Issues," Sunday mornings! Make sure you come say "Hi" to me at one of our many live local broadcasts.
I love planes. One of the things I really like about living in Augusta because I get to see planes taking off and landing at the Augusta State Airport and Maine Instrument Flight. I also like things that encourage girls look at non traditions careers or hobbies they might love. So this event is right up my alley. This Saturday (August 2) the 80th anniversary of Amelia Earhart’s visit to Maine will be honored with an informational display about Earhart and a special focus on encouraging girls and women to learn to fly.
It is not big secret, I love TV! I always look forward to the new seasons of the shows and always am hopeful for the new shows. I am usually disappointed but a girl can dream. Here is the handy dandy premier calendar from TVGuide.com. Things start the week of September 7 with the BIG week being September 21.

The Amy Buxton Pet Pantry is now open and growing! The Amy Buxton Pet Pantry helps local pet owners with foods and supplies. That one gesture can make the difference between someone being able to keep their pet or having to give up that pet!
Well, the Augusta Food Bank has a need for canned tuna fish. The Augusta Food Bank serves families in Augusta and Manchester. The need grows every month. But the thing is, it is so easy to help. Pick up a extra can or two (or ten!) and drop it off sometime soon. Heck, you bring it to me at the radio station and I will get it to the AFB! While you are at it maybe a jar of peanut butter too. They can always use that!
Well, into each life a little rain must fall. And it looks like that will happen on the 4th of July. So some of the fireworks have been cancelled or postponed. Check out the list as of the afternoon of July 3rd. I know Augusta and Winslow have some BIG changes!
