I am the News Director for the Townsquare Media/Augusta-Waterville stations and also the host of our public affairs show, "Issues," Sunday mornings! Make sure you come say "Hi" to me at one of our many live local broadcasts.
Andy came in to the HSWA stray from Waterville and needs a loving home where he can share all of his love with others. He likes to be held, and to hold. He loves kisses. He is friendly, and seeks out laps on which to sit. Andy is not a kitten he is around 10-ish but still has a lot of life ahead of him. The cost to adopt this cutie is $125 includes spay/neutering, all shots! *purr, purr*
Irish journalist Charlie Bird was traveling in Antarctica when met some seals who wanted to snuggle. Well, I think that is what they were doing. Either way, Charlie's reaction is so fun and the seals seemed to be having a good time.
Bear is a another cutie! He is about two and is a German Shepard mix. He ended up in the shelter after being brought to them from a hording situation. So, he needs some extra attention in adjusting to family life. So Bear is going to need is a home willing to invest the time into training, backing that up with consistency and lots of love. His adoption fee is $150 includes spay/neutering and all shots.
Lucy the dog makes her way around the kitchen, getting on the counters and using chairs to get to the toaster over and its stash of chicken nuggets! Gosh, I never want to own a dog who is smart that me!
Maine is going to offer free flu shots to all Maine residents. The Maine Immunization Program has flu shots and the nasal spray that were to be used for kids, the uninsured and certain other higher risk groups. But I was reading in the Sun Journal that Maine has enough on hand at the moment they can let it be used by all Mainers for free. If not, it will just go to waste.
With the holidays, the weather and life stuff, it feel like just now it is hitting me we have a new year! So, this is a week late, but check these out about now 2014 could seem some positives in our world and what we are leaving behind!
A few weeks ago I was reading a story on Facebook about Scattering CJ. It is a story about a mother in Auburn whose son died April 14, 2010 and her journey to find some peace with what happen. He committed suicide. CJ was only 20. I was drawn to Hallie Twomey’s story for two reasons. One, losing a child is the last thing any parent should have to endure. Two, her son died the same way my father died when I was 12.
I asked Santa for a set of snowshoes for Christmas and he left a pair under the tree! They even came with walking poles! But it has been SO cold and icy since Christmas, today was the first day it was nice enough to give them a whirl. But not before I checked out a handy video from L.L. Bean about the basics.
