Join me as the host of the Morning Buzz with Randy McCoy, weekday mornings from 5am to 9am. I also can be heard on Sundays from 10-noon. Make sure you come by to meet me at many of our live local broadcasts.
Lisa Smith, from the Humane Society Waterville Area, visited the Morning Buzz to talk about their upcoming Walk-A-Thon. Lisa also brought in 2 very cute kitties that are up for adoption today. Dewey & Denzel are neutered and ready to go to their fur-ever home.
Senator Roger Katz, along with 9 co-sponsors, are introducing a Death-With-Dignity Act in Maine. The bill number is LD 1270 (SP 452) and is titled "An Act Regarding Patient Directed Care At The End Of Life". This potentially would allow terminally ill residents the freedom to request a prescription for a life-ending medication if their suffering becomes unbearable.
You just never know when you might need to use the local food pantry. If you're lucky, it will be never. But, you can't predict the future. Even with a supportive family, circumstances could arise where you would rather resort to using the local food pantry than ask your family for help. Or maybe, you're right...you'll never need the food pantry, but you never know when you will need some good karma on your side.
We've all had debates with our little children. But, this one takes the cake...or cupcake. 3-year-old Mateo insists his mom give him a cupcake. When mom says "No", he pulls out the big guns by calling mom by her first name.
This benefits the Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area & L.N. Clark Inspiration Network: The 5th Annual Run/Walk for a Life 5K will be tomorrow, May 9th. Registration begins at 8am and the race starts at 9am. Join the Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area along with L.N Clark Inspiration Network and support these organizations who provide support to so many in our communities.
Mother's Day is Sunday, May 10th. If you didn't know this already...Shame! It's no secret that I have a lot of kiddos. If you didn't know this already...Shame! I have 6, to be exact. Never a dull moment and as I think of all the things I have had to endure in this journey called "Motherhood", I deserve far more than some school made project. I deserve a Mercedes or at least a trip to Bora Bora.
I remember when I was pregnant, I was so excited for each and every ultrasound that I got. It gave me the opportunity to see my baby...it almost helped me bond even more with that special being taking up that space in my belly. I would take those pictures home and just stare at them. But when you're blind, you don't get to appreciate the joy of ultrasounds. This mom got the surprise of a lifetime when she went to her recent ultrasound.
Have you ever wondered for just a moment what your waiter was thinking? What goes through their mind when you order a chef salad, minus the onions, green peppers and olives, but please add extra cucumber, minus the egg and dressing on the side. Then that gnawing voice in the back of your mind saying "They're going to spit in my food."
Tomorrow morning (May 7th) McCoy will be absent, so the Bee Crew will be invading the studio. Sarah, Renee & Andy will be talking about Hair for the Hungry and the desperate need for donations to help with area food banks. Make sure you are listening to B98.5.
We had a special visitor in the Bee studio during the Morning Buzz. Miss Alexis, from Vassalboro Community School, job shadowed with McCoy & Dyer for a few hours. She temporarily announced the weather, Bee Big Shot Birthdays & the Bee Brain Buster.
