Living in Maine, of course I would watch a show taking place right here in Maine!
And I'm hooked!
But I'm surprised at how much different it is from another famous police show 'Cops'.
I had mentioned this yesterday on Facebook but it bears repeating.
As I was driving north on I-95 headed to my part-time job in Waterville, I was following a black 4-door Volkswagen. Seeing it swerve in front of me a few times and then almost going off the road after it hit the rumble strip I KNEW I had to get away from it.
What happened next SHOCKED ME!
My baby's a little fighting machine!!
Not really.
What karate DOES teach is discipline, patience and defense. Something I think all kids should know! And he's doing it all at the Alfond Youth Center in Waterville!
NOTHING is better than reading with your child before bedtime. We do it every night. Sometimes, it's the same book 5 days in a row because he loves it and laughs each time you get to a certain part.
And sometimes, it's a classic!
Yesterday at the Westbrook American Legion, Chad and I took Anderson down to see Chad's son Brad in his first guitar competition.
I grew up playing games ALL THE TIME! We had so many board games. We had Parcheesi, Life, Monopoly, Scrabble, Battleship, Chutes and Ladders, Candyland...all the greats!
My parents were incredible card players. They taught me how to play Solitaire at 5. I was also my father's Pinoccle partner at age 8.
But there is one game I JUST learned how to play!
Remember this conversation:
Kid: "Mom, can I have a puppy?"
Mom: "Go ask you father."
Kid: "Dad, can I have a puppy?"
Dad: "No."
Mom: "What did your father say?"
Kid: "No."
Mom: "Then it's a no. Respect your father's decision."
When did this all go away?
Another Maine band this year is opening for another big act at the Meadowbrook US Cellular Pavillion's on their Magic Hat Stage.
Central Maine's own Cold Blue Steel's lead singer, Chad Hood, received the phone call on Friday. Once it was posted to Facebook, well, all heck broke loose!
