The Augusta 15 and under Babe Ruth team beat Cranston, R.I., 2-1 in Connecticut. That advanced them to the single elimination semifinals. Their first game is Monday.

Nine local high school field hockey teams will take part in the 5th annual Battle for Breast Cancer Tournament at Thomas College Saturday. It's a benefit for the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
The Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic, featuring High School Senior All-Star football players, is Saturday in Biddeford. Kick-off is at 6:00pm.
