Automakers Pushing To Make It Illegal To Work On Your Own Car

Automakers are supporting the idea of making it illegal for you to work on your own car, particularly, the electrical and computer components in your vehicle.

The Auto Alliance is an association that represents a dozen of the largest automobile manufactures and they are lobbying congress to support The Digital Millennium Copyright Act. That would make tinkering with your car a copyright violation.

Automakers argue that altering your vehicles electronic control units could lead to equipment failure and security issues.
