B98.5 Wins Station of the Year! Sharon Buck Wins Memorial Award!

When the letter came in the mail, I had no idea we were nominated!

This Sunday at The Silver Spur in Mechanic Falls, The Downeast Country Music Association will present B98.5 their 'Media Award'. It is presented to a radio or television station in Maine that promotes country music.

We here at B98.5 know that there is so much talent here in the state of Maine and we are so happy to hear from new artists! Whenever we have our Waterfront Wednesdays, people from all over come to see the bands they dance to on the weekends. We are proud to play their music on the air and wish them the best as they strive for country stardom!

For me, receiving the Bill Clements Memorial Award, which is presented to a media personality who supports and promotes Country music in Maine, is just amazing! Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE music and I think we have an incredibe amount of talent here in Maine. Not just Central Maine but all over! I'm glad I am in the position to help local bands get their names out in the community. There are so many free events for families that include not only traditional country music and bluegrass but modern country, as well. Music is a HUGE part of my life and I thank all of our listeners for making B98.5 the NUMBER ONE station in central Maine!
