The classic 1959 film Ben Hur, starring Charlton Heston, may make a big screen comeback in 2016. MGM and Paramount studios would release the movie with Mark Burnett and Roma Downey as producers.

Burnett and Downey produced the widely popular film ‘Son of God’ and believe they can bring Ben Hur back to life. The movie has been in the theatres twice, once in 1925 and again in 1959. The ’59 version starring Charlton Heston was up for 12 Oscars and won 11 including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director and Best Special Effects.

Paramount released the film ‘Noah’ recently which did not live up to expectations at the box office and was panned by critics. The film company believes they have learned their lesson from that movie.
