You may have noticed gas prices are on the rise again. After hitting a low in recent years of around $2.00 a gallon they are creeping back up. Experts expect that trend to continue with gas prices going up another 50 to 60 cents a gallon by spring. 2015 will see a rise in other items too.

Beef and Pork (including bacon) will continue to go up as farmers are still recovering from a pig-killing virus and rising feed costs.

Chocolate will be on the rise too. There seems to be a worldwide shortage of cocoa mostly because of a drought in West Africa and an increase on the demand for the treat. Dark chocolate will go up more than milk chocolate because the ‘dark’ uses more cocoa.

Air Travel will keep going up even though airlines are paying less for fuel. Airlines have less flights which means they are flying more at full capacity, meaning fewer flight deals.

Coffee was expected to drop but now the prediction is they will keep going up due to a drought in Brazil, the world’s largest grower of coffee. Prices could rise anywhere between 2 to 9 per cent.

Girl Scout Cookies going up to $5 a box. This price may vary though since there are 112 Girl Scout councils in the country and each can set their price. Hawaii has paid $5 a box for years and San Francisco raised their price last year.

One thing missing on this list of things going up is salaries. Figures!
