Mercedes-Benz is recalling 744,852 cars in the United States to make sure their panoramic sunroofs don't come off, according to filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The problem specifically affects all trims of these vehicles:

2001–2007 C-class
2003–2009 CLK-class
2007–2011 CLS-class
2003–2009 E-class

A detached glass panel can separate from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the glass panel bonding and replace the sliding roof, as necessary, free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin February 14, 2020. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
