As a die hard Red Sox fan, I know what Cubs fans were going through!

After living most of my adult life waiting for the Red Sox to break my heart every October, things changed in 2004. That was the year that the Curse of the Bambino was beaten as the Sox swept the St Louis Cardinals in the World Series to win their first championship in 86 years.

The Chicago Cubs had waited 108 years before last night. And when the Cleveland Indians scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to tie the game last night, I felt for the Cubs fans. The stunned looks on their faces almost saying "how can we blow this one?"

But they didn't! Not this time.

The Cubs scored two runs in the top of the tenth inning and held on to beat the Indians 8-7 and the party began.

Theo Epstein was the General Manager of the Red Sox in 2004 when the curse was reversed. He left the Sox in 2011 to take over the Cubs and rebuilt them into a championship team.

So let the party begin!

Longtime comedienne and Cub fan Bill Murray was a common face at the games and went into the locker room after for a little post game chug of champagne. And if I were a betting man, I'd say that party is still going on!
