A mixture of heavy fog and temperatures right near the freezing mark, led to icy roads and accidents Sunday morning on Interstate 95 near Bangor and Old Town.The Penobscot Regional Communications Center dispatched police and rescue crews to about a dozen accidents on Sunday morning, including an accident in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Old Town that involved eight or nine cars.

Maine State Police reported that they were at least 14 accidents on I-95 alone between Old Town and Newport on Sunday morning.

I was driving to Bingham on Sunday morning and noticed that in Skowhegan the roads had been treated with salt.
