There are published reports that the Maine State Police bomb squad was at a motel in Skowhegan earlier this afternoon (Oct. 21).According to a report on WMTW.com, police said that the squad went to the Towne Motel on Madison Avenue after receiving a report about a suspicious device.

According to a report in the Kennebec Journal, the report was for what appeared to be a grenade located between the motel building and an oli tank. After clearing out part of the motel, it was determined that the grenade was a toy.

The KJ report says one man was handcuffed for crossing the police tape surrounding the area during the incident, but there is no information if the man who was detained had anything else to do with the incident.

No injuries were reported.
