Students at Bowdoin College recently held a tequila-themed birthday party where they passed out sombreros to some people at the party.

Some at the college felt that was ‘politically incorrect’ though and now the college is offering counseling to students who felt injured and affected by the group of classmates who attended the party. The General Assembly of Bowdoin students issued a statement of solidarity to stand by all students who were affected by the party wants the administration to acknowledge the deep hurt caused by the event.

The feeling is an act of racial and ethnic bias and stereotyping.

What do you think? Is this going too far by students to hold a party with sombreros, or has political correctness gone amuck?
