The male judges of 'Rising Star,' Brad Paisley and Ludacris, seem like polar opposites. But as the saying goes, "opposites attract." The country singer dishes on his growing bromance with the rapper, admitting their friendship was instantaneous.

"I think that we couldn't be more different," Paisley tells People. "But we're thick as thieves. It's one of the fastest friendships I've ever made."

"He's such a big star, a great actor and one of the most important and influential rappers of all time. He has earned the right to be sort of difficult, but he is so warm and brilliant," he adds. Perhaps when Paisley says Ludacris is 'difficult,' he's remembering the costly bet he lost with the rapper, forcing him to dig deep into his wallet.

The 'River Bank' singer also gives details on the other 'Rising Star' judge, pop singer Kesha. Although it sounds unlikely to put a country star, pop star, and rapper in one room and have them click, that's what happened with the threesome.

"You'd imagine her to be foul-mouthed and hard-edged, but she's extremely sweet and kind," Paisley says of Kesha. "I mean, she certainly can cuss a sailor under the table if she wants, but usually it is out of humor."

"We will frequently get together after an entire day of working," he adds. In fact, on July 15, his co-workers decided to join him at the Los Angeles premiere of Disney's 'Planes: Fire and Rescue.' "We mentored all day and then they hopped in a limo with me and we walked the carpet together, just because we are buddies. Who would have thought?"

Paisley isn't just earning a paycheck on 'Rising Star,' he's also gained a few BFF's which is pretty priceless. It's a busy time for the country star; his upcoming album 'Moonshine in the Trunk' streets Aug. 26, and he recently leaked a bit of his record to fans, causing some major chaos (and cheers!) online.
