I never imagined a day when red ants or fire ants would be a welcome sight but, once you get invaded by ‘crazy ants’, you may long for the good old days. Tawny crazy ants, scientifically called Nylanderia fulva, are invading the Southern area of the United States and they are much worse than red ants.

Florida Quietly Reduces Time Between Yellow and Red Light Change

Seems like a small thing and it has been done quietly in Florida, but the Florida Department of Transportation has shortened the time on their traffic lights on how long they stay yellow before they turn red. They started the change in 2011 at key intersections in the state, mostly intersections that have red light cameras or RLC’s.

It Is Dandelion Season

As you can tell from looking around it is dandelion season, which starts when the grass starts getting green. Personally I do not like dandelions on my lawn, so I use a weed and feed to get rid of them. You have to be careful on the type of spray or granules you use, but a quick trip to the hardware or lawn store and they can help you pick out a safe and effective product. If dandelions don’t bother you, there are benefits to them.

Natural Gas Scratch and Sniff Cards Cause Panic in Montana Town

Scratch and sniff cards come in many forms, from perfume to cologne and natural gas. Energy West in Great Falls, Montana, passed out natural gas cards to their customers that have an artificial smell of gas when you scratched them. The idea was to have residents notice the smell in case of a leak and they seem to work all too well.
