Every year, in an effort to collect food and raise money for local food pantries, WGME 13 has their School Spirit Challenge.  Area high schools compete by seeing who can collect the most donations for the food pantry in their town.  On Friday, October 23rd WGME 13 will be broadcasting from Winthrop High School starting at 5:30am.

What kind of parent let's their kid play with fire?  This kind!  It all started with a pair of devil sticks.  I was surprised how quickly he took to those.  One day he mentioned getting fire sticks.  I didn't even have to think about it.  But, Sawyer doesn't really know other people who spin fire.  We discovered a group called 'The Phoenix Tribe' and they would be performing at the Harvest Fest in Augusta.

Teaching Kids To Attack A Gunman At School [VIDEO]

This video came across my newsfeed on Facebook this morning.  It's a video that teaches children how to attack a gunman at school.  While it may seem like a good idea, I can't justify this being done.  In the video, it shows a kid getting shot.  If this were a real life scenario, that kid is someone's baby.  Yes, I understand that more could be shot if nothing were to be done.  I just can't believe that, as a mom, I even have to consider something like this.  It's really hard for me to swallow.
