Yesterday we told you Hank Williams Jr. will be back for the opening of Monday Night Football and now comes news that Carrie Underwood will be back for Sunday Night football. It will be her fifth year of doing the opening. According to last season the opening song was changed with a spin on her song ‘Somethin’ Bad.’ The original song was based on a Joan Jett song, ‘I Hate Myself for Loving You.’

Hank Williams Jr. will return to Monday Night Football this season. He will once again do the opening of ‘Are you ready for some football?’ Six year ago ESPN fired Williams because of remarks he made about President Obama but they now say that bygones are bygones. On it seems everyone has made amends. During an interview with Nashville’s daily newspaper, the singer spoke with rarely-seen enthusiasm about coming back and mentioned nothing of the controversy.

Six years ago, Hank Williams Jr. was critical of a sitting president. Soon after, ESPN, in a statement, said: "While Hank Williams, Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight's telecast."
